I just got post on a Saturday, and its not December, has An Post changed the rules?

Or do you reckon my post man had one of those days where he forgot it was a Saturday, got up, went to work (with note to self traffic very light today mmm), then realised his mistake and decided to do his daily walk anyway? Im in Dublin btwI just got post on a Saturday, and its not December, has An Post changed the rules?
I live in North Co. Dublin, and very occasionally we get post on a Saturday. It is the decision of the local post master, if he has a big backlog of deliveries, he may sanction overtime on Saturday morning, to clear the backlog. This week we had a severe storm and flooding on Wednesday night, which may have affected deliveries on Thursday, hence the need for overtime.

That's my only explanation.
Our old postman was an alcoholic ( he was taken off the roads around christmas every year to take away temptation lol!) and we could get post on a Saturday + Sunday and no other day in the week lol!

But as the others said, if theres a back log of post they put in extra hours to get rid of it. :-)I just got post on a Saturday, and its not December, has An Post changed the rules?
No Christine.

It probably means that the postman was dying with a hangover yesterday so he collected his sack at the mail centre yesterday morning and brought it straight home with him and got back into bed.

He's probably feeling better today.
He probably found a big sack of letters under the van seat that had been there for weeks and thought he'd better deliver them quick before someone complained !I just got post on a Saturday, and its not December, has An Post changed the rules?
I occasionally get post on a Saturday, few and far between though.
