How long has she left?/?

my dog is 15yrs and 3 months.how much longer do u reckon shes got.? she has a lot of arthritis and seems in pain, she cant walk very far but she gets the odd spurt of energy and goes for a little daily ramble. shes a very clever dog, collie type medium size.shes a rescue dog and had rickets through been taken from her mother too early.i think thats why she has arthritis now.i love her.How long has she left?/?
You know its one of those questions that one never has an answer for..our collie is 17 next this december..her sister had to be put to sleep last year as her back end went and couldnt get up, she also had other problems but this one is going on strong...i love her too just as much as the other one..in fact i adore all animals...i hope you enjoy each others company as much as i think you do..just remember to show her how much you love her just as we did our two girls (collies are clever they know what you are thinking, as do most dogs) blessing from us to you both xxxxx
15 is really quite old. she may not have that much time leftHow long has she left?/?
15 is getting up there. Has she seen a Vet? He may be able to prescribe some medication to make her a bit more comfortable with her arthritis. It sounds like she's been a wonderful dog for you. Enjoy whatever time you have with her.
you can not put a time on this. but if it was my dog . it would get the best food and care l could give. How long has she left?/?
Fifteen is a good age for any dog. If your dog is in pain from arthritis she needs to go to the vet so he can give her some relief from her pain. If you love this dog you can't just let her be in pain - get her some help.
You cant put a time on life especially a bloved family pet. She will go when shes ready so in the meantime make her confortable and dont change anything, dogs are very sensitive to change..

Enjoy everyday with her because once shes gone thats it.
can you not take her to the vets they should be able to give you some advice maybe even treatment to give her a better way of life. I really feel for you actually but 15 is quite old bless her. (hope she is ok)
My sisters Border Collie went at the same age, had to be put down. My GSD is 12 and suffering the same symptons as yours. You have to think of their quality of life, then think of the vet.
Probably a long time... there is medication for everything you mentioned... Your dog only cares about you loving her and being around you... I am sure she loves anything you cook and is forgiving of anything you do...I think people react too fast to put their pets down.. Don't do it.... God will take her when its her time. In the meantime just enjoy her, take her to the vet , give her the medications she needs and give her lots of attention and love. She will energize again
Enjoy every moment with her, you might not have her much longer, she will let you know when shes ready to go play on the rainbow. Just be open to her spend as much time as you can with her and dont let her be in pain for too long. Its always so hard to lose an old dog I have lost several recently. She will be happy to know you will look for another rescue baby when shes gone, she wont want you to be too sad she will want you to remember all the joy you have given one another over he years.
Just get her regular check ups at vets and pain killers for arthritis.

She could have up to 6 yrs left in her, my gran had a male collie cross large for 21 years.

So you never really know, shes a great age already
I'm sorry but that's a hard question to answer in age on average most dog just make 15 but they can go on longer
YOU CANNOT PUT A TIME ON THIS TYPE OF THING WHAT IF SOME ONE SAID MY GRAND MOTHER IS 90 WE DON'T KNOW WHEN SHE IS GOING TO DIE THAT DOG MIGHT LIVE FOR 2 MORE YEARS YOU NEVER KNOW
oh Dossin! god love you as my heart goes out to you, i love my dog but he is only 5 but i would be devastated without him, just take it day by day, she will survive in your heart even if she goes to heaven!
I hate to say 15 is getting old for a dog of her size,if she is in pain she should really be seen by a vet and talk it over with him/her.

You could try putting cod liver oil in her food daily to help with her joints

Good Luck
She's living a wonderful life! I wouldn't worry about how much time she has left, but keep on enjoying the time you have with her.
15 years and 3 months is a very good age, but mine oly went onto 16 years of age.
She has lived a good long life due to the love and devotion that you have given her. She is in her senior years. I wish I could say that she has many years left, but it is hard to say. If her pain gets too great, you may have to make the decision we all dread, whether or not to put her out of her pain. Sometimes it is the best gift we can give them.
Fifteen is pretty old for most dogs. Just pray she just goes to sleep and don't wake up one day. I hope you don't have to have her put to sleep. Good luck.
your Dog is very old for one of her type. the life expectancy is 12 - 15 yrs. i have Been through the death of a dog myself. he was 16 when he died. he was an Alsatian. to the point- he had about 1 and a half years left in him when he got to the stage your collie is at.
She seems quite elderly as long as her quality of life is good and is having pain relief Who knows
My parents dog is now 14, we had him from being 7 weeks old. Over the last 5 years he has had diabetes, cushings disease, cataracts, arthritis and a skin condition. Many times we have thought that he was as deaths door but he has always bounced back. All of his symptoms are treatable- he has insulin injections, a tablet for the cushings, an op on the cataracts, medicine for the arthritis. He is a happy little dog and we know that he is in no pain-he is just getting old. Try asking your vet for medication for the arthritis, since ours has been on it he has a real spring in his step. Only you know if she is really suffering and you probably pick up on little changes in her and know if she is ill. The most important thing when they get to that age is to see a vet as soon as you think something is wrong. Our vet says that is the only reason our dog is so happy. Make the most of her now as you always have done, I can tell you love her.
just enjoy the time she has but please if she is in pain put her to sleep
You want them to live forever, they are part of the family. Unfortunately, they are mortals just like us humans. You sound like a very caring person, but please think of your pet. Ask your vet for advice. You do not have to agree with them, but I feel this is your best way to resolve your problem. I wish I had a magic wand to make things better, but I have not. Do the right thing you feel is right, She will always love you in return, please remember that.
mine is 14yrs and has the same but I just thank every day that she is still here
try giving her cod liver oil or anti inflamitries from the vet. she has has lived a good few years my husband was a dog warden they usually live 12-15 years. the only other option which i know is really hard is be blessed that she been a big part of your life and stop the suffering and take her to the vets for the obvious. I'm sorry i know it must be really painful for you they become part of your family like one of your kids. but you know if its time no one else can make that decision for you.
have you takem her to a vet, they can give her treatment for arthritis, so she wont be in any pain
if she has arthitis ask your vet for some rimadyl painkiller. I suffer from arthritis and it is very very painful. My old giant schnauzer also had it and when I started her on Rymadil she was like a new dog and bounced about all over the place.Don't just leave her in pain.
