Does the country with the tallest buildings in the world win?

Dubai, UAE...

And why has China become so much taller than the US?

"China has six of the world's 15 tallest buildings 鈥?compared with three in the United States, the skyscraper's birthplace 鈥?and is constructing more at a furious pace."

The shift is so drastic that North America's share of the 100 tallest buildings will fall from 80 percent in 1990 to just 18 percent by 2012. By then, 45 of the tallest will be in Asia, with 34 of those in China alone.Does the country with the tallest buildings in the world win?
Win in what? The country with the tallest building title?
So China has the longest bridge, 6 of the tallest buildings, the biggest and longest wall, the largest city.

Hmmm really seems like they are trying to compensate for something here. I wonder why they keep trying to make things "big", "long" or "tall" I wonder what it could be. *giggles*
I wonder what could they possibly not have that's big and long that they need to do these things.

And before you get all butthurt about me making fun of the Chinese, I'm Japanese as in a real one. Not some white guy living in Japan so I have a right to not like the Chinese hahaDoes the country with the tallest buildings in the world win?
I find it funny everyone has finally caught up. The Willis Tower, also known as the Sears Tower, was constructed in 1973. Which was the tallest building from 1973 to 1998. 40 years later they are approaching heights relatively close to that. Not to mention the Empire State Building which was constructed in 1931, tallest from 1931 to 1971.
Why would we care?

But the reasons why the world would be catching up is

China's population/infrastructure issues have already resulted in massive urban sprawl, building out is becoming more and more difficult - so building up is the only option.Does the country with the tallest buildings in the world win?
Win what? And Dubai is in serious trouble. As for China---they win only because we handed it to them on a silver platter. This is what we get for not paying attention to what was happening for many years.
The skyscraper heights seem to be more or less inversely related to the penis sizes of the majority populations.
Once the oil money runs out Dubai reverts into an iron age village. China's bubble will burst soon.
who gives a s--t europe doesn't have tall buildings and no one care over there
